Test
This
subsystem provides position, health, configuration
and remote control
capability of a space vehicle to ground control
stations on Earth.
Communication
and Data-Handling Subsystem
TT&C
(Telemetry, Tracking and Command) design is
standardized so spacecraft can communicate with
ground control stations around the world, providing
mission control teams constant contact with the
vehicle.
Modulation
blends baseband signals containing desired information
onto high frequency carrier signals more conducive
for transmission. Receivers demodulate the carrier
and baseband signal to retrieve information.
Multiple
access technology
allows more than one ground control station at a
time to communicate with the same spacecraft.
Link
budget measures
the ability of a spacecraft and ground control station
to communicate with each other.
Data
processing architectures
in spacecraft are similar to those in personal computers.
